Church planters in the Dominican Republic

Manuel and Jenna Sanchez were married in 2011 and have lived for ten years in Joliet, Illinois. Manuel served at Gospel Life Church as an intern overseeing Spanish ministry. In 2013 the family moved to Iglesia Camino al Cielo, a Joliet Spanish-speaking church where Manuel has faithfully shepherded as a bi-vocational pastor. Manuel currently attends New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and in July will step down from his role as pastor in Joliet to move to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Manuel and Jenna will join Gospel Hope Church to train and partner with Gospel Hope for church planting in the Dominican Republic.

Gospel Hope Church

From its founding 3 years ago, Gospel Hope Church has had a DNA and vision of multiplication. Their desire is to be a church that equips and mobilizes gospel ministry. They have graciously invited our family to work and learn alongside them for the next 9-12 months to receive practical training and be our sending church.

DR Church Planting Team

The Lord has sovereignly brought together a team of 4 like-minded brothers that share the same vision and passion. Lord willing, we hope to plant in the fall of 2021. (more detailed information about the team coming in the near future).

FAQ

Where in DR will you plant a church?

We hope to plant in Santo Domingo and then be able to plant in other places in the DR. The plant in Santo Domingo will serve as a hub from which we send planters to other cities on the island that need a gospel-centered church.

What is your timeline?

Lord willing, we plan to:

  1. Finish residencies at Gospel Hope and Summit Collaborative by the Summer of 2021.
  2. Plan to relocate our family from Atlanta, GA to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the summer of 2021.
  3. We plan to officially launch Grace City Church in the spring of 2022.
